About

Poison Apple originally came from a dream I had where there was a line of dolls that were gijinkas of famous objects from stories, and what I remembered most from that dream was Poison Apple, as she was the one I had been looking for in that dream. I drew what I remembered of her as soon as I woke up, I've basically had her as a comfort character since then. I just think she's really cool.

---------------

In universe, Poison Apple is a witch that specialises in brewing powerful concoctions, mainly of healing and poison. She got her name from when she had helped a queen's attempt to murder her evil daughter who had fed on the soul of the king until there was nothing left of him. The bite of apple the daughter had took unfortunately had gotten stuck in her throat rather than being porperly swallowed, allowing the girl to recover once the piece was gotten out by a group of well-meaning dwarves. The good thing is that while the first poison apple may not have worked, the second that had been snuck into the evil princess' fruit bowl did.

Poison Apple does have an actual name, but she finds people's guesses about it fentertaining so she keeps it hidden, just for the fun of it. She lives in a cozy cottage in the dark woods close to the city that had been built where the queen previously ruled, not wanting to give up her home even in the modern times. Does quite enjoy the new fashion though, and she had renovations done to get flowing water and electricity when those had become available. She'd also become less of a recluse overtime, plenty happy to simply have people over just for socialising rather than exclusively for business as she used to.

Still keeps up her ominous magic chanting act when she feels like it, stirring up rumors and conspiracy theories about herself just for funsies. As far as she's aware cringe is dead and she'll act as edgy and mysterious as she likes, thanks.
